Well I'm looking for a second opinion on my plan tonight,
Just before I go ahead and continue into the morning light,
Hop onto the final train to some new life,
Busk or borrow anything to see me by...
And I think I'm losing my mind,
It's soaring across the sky while I'm left here way behind,
But I think I'm losing my mind,
But who'd have ever knew that going crazy'd feel so good,
And I...
I'd an idea to change the world, but it changed everything,
So was a little to big of a hurdle and a little left wing,
For now I'll stick to something easier that luck might bring,
Maybe swim to French Polynesia, maybe learn Mandarin...
And I think I'm losing my mind,
It's soaring across the sky while I'm left here way behind,
But I think I'm losing my mind,
But who'd have ever knew that going crazy'd feel so good,
And I...
But don't you take me too literally when I sing,
You're full of bull notions and theories when you're only 18,
So don't you take me too literally when I sing,
You're full of bull notions and theories when you're only 18,
And I think I'm losing my mind,
It's soaring across the sky while I'm left here way behind,
But I think I'm losing my mind,
But who'd have ever knew that going crazy'd feel so good,
And I...

Birdsong

Oh there was a little bird, sitting in a tree, yeah, somewhere near to me,
And then I heard, his song as I worked and it was clear to see,
I'd work to do, and little distractions keep popping up my way,
It's nothing new, you can hate it but it happens every single day.
And some people say "Why's he always singing?
Ain't he got something better to do?"
And some people say "Why's he flying around?
Shouldn't he put that skill to better use?"
But I ask you... I ask you...
But back to the little bird...
So I stopped and listened to his song rise high and high
And then drop, melody restarts, rustling leaves do the backing line,
It's odd to see things so different getting along
In harmony, if only people did it like they do in song
And some people say "Why's he always singing?
Ain't he got something better to do?"
And some people say "Why's he flying around?
Shouldn't he put that skill to better use?"
But I ask you... I ask you...
There was a little bird, sitting in a tree somewhere near to me,
And then I heard the sound of the bass supplied by a buzzing bee,
Flying around, doing the dirty work of someone else
On the ground, working for some plants, at least he's not just out for himself
And some people say "Why's he always singing?
Ain't he got something better to do?"
And some people say "Why's he flying around?
Shouldn't he put that skill to better use?"
But I ask you... I ask you...
What if that bird is the only one, the only one to get it right?
Doing what he loves, when he likes, not poisoning himself out half the night,
Yeah well, it's hard to say and it's hard to know but it doesn't matter if I'm wrong,
I'm happy enough just sitting here, listening to a little bird's song.

Little Place in My Heart

Stand at the top of this mountain, look down see the world,
So beautiful from this distance, I'd share it with you girl,
Full of little tiny people stuck between the sky and the sea
And the places I could go to, the places that I've been.
All we've been through,
It's funny at the start how this tore me apart,
And all we can do,
You'll always have a little place in my heart.
Watch the coloured city background unfold at my feet,
Sometimes dazzling and confusing but full of opportunity,
And the street that you walk on is different to mine,
But just the next street along, we'll meet again in time.
All we've been through,
It's funny at the start how this tore me apart,
And all we can do,
You'll always have a little place in my heart.
And it's funny to me, it takes a stranger to make it clear to see...
All we've been through,
It's funny at the start how this tore me apart,
And all we can do,
You'll always have a little place in my heart.
